Frequently Asked Questions

For any additional questions, please contact Danielle Lyon, Event Project Manager, on eventsteam@thermomix.com.au

Q: What forms and taxes do I need to comply with to travel to Bali?

A: It is compulsory for all visitors to Bali to complete the below application forms and pay the relevant taxes prior to departing Australia.

IMPORTANT PLEASE READ:

Firstly, you need to have a valid passport. Indonesia won't let you enter unless your passport is valid for 6 months after you plan to leave Indonesia.

Next, you will not be allowed to leave Australia or enter Bali if you have not completed the e-Visa application. You can reduce your arrival waiting time dramatically by completing all of the required e-Visa and customs declarations online before you leave Australia.

  • E-Visa (IDR 500,000). Complete your application and payment via this link.  This must be completed at least 1 week prior to departure.
  • Tourist Levy (IDR 150,000). Complete your payment online via this link. Complete this at the same time that you apply for your e-Visa.
  • Customs Declaration. Complete your application no more than 3 days prior to your departure date via this link. You can also complete the Customs Declaration at the Denpasar Airport upon arrival into Bali.

Be wary of scam websites and only use the official links provided above. If in doubt, visit the Smart Traveller website.

Q: Can I change my flights and travel prior to the ThermoFest main arrival date of 9 September?

A: Amendments to group flights can only be made on the return journey and for a maximum of 7 days following the conclusion of the event.

Q: Will it cost anything to amend my return flight if I choose to extend or travel to a different destination following the conclusion of ThermoFest?

A: There is a $155 amendment fee to change the group flight booking, plus any applicable airfare difference from the group airfare.  The group airfares are negotiated in advance of the event in order to secure sufficient seating allocation.  Changes in airfares means the original flights can be significantly cheaper than flights booked closer to travelling dates, particularly during peak leisure season.  Please be assured that if you are unable to secure an extension booking for Bali, Thermomix has incorporated the majority of the best activities and locations in the ThermoFest program!

Q: Will there be extension options available at the Sofitel Nusa Dua Resort?

A:  As we are travelling during a peak season, availability at Sofitel Nusa Dua may be limited. We may have access to a special group rate which will be communicated to qualifiers during the registration process in July 2024.

Q: Do we have the option to pay a single supplement for our own room?

A: Thermomix® has reserved twin-share rooms at Sofitel Nusa Dua to cater for our qualifiers. Depending on availability at the time of event registration, you may have an opportunity to pay a single room supplement and secure your own room. This will be communicated to qualifiers during the registration process in July 2024.

Q: What happens if I get COVID in the direct lead up to the event?

A:  Qualifiers must comply with Australian and Indonesian government public health orders in relation to travel requirements and event participation. Any cancellation based on a positive COVID test result will be required to be confirmed in writing, with a copy of the PCR test result provided for insurance purposes.

Q: Will my dietary requirements be catered for?

A: There is a question towards the end of the registration survey where dietary requirements can be noted.  The various suppliers will do their best to cater for all requirements however cannot always be guaranteed. We aim to have at least 60% of all menus tailored for gluten free diets.

Q: What is the dress code for the events?

A: Please refer to the Events Program page of the ThermoFest website for the dress code for each event.

We’ll be travelling to Bali during their dry season where temperatures typically range between 27 - 32°C. Humidity is relatively low to medium with a low chance of rain.

Q: I've got some general questions about Bali. Are there any specific sites I should visit?

A: There are many websites that will provide great information about our destination.  Love Bali is the main website where you can explore the different regions. You can find more information about regions and activities at the Bali.com website.

Important: If booking your own accommodation and activities, please be wary of scam websites.
